QSCM is thrilled to announce Ontario Arts Council Funding for our Spring Event,
“The Joyful Muse”

Thanks to the support of the Ontario Arts Council, an Ontario Government Agency, the generosity of the Municipality of Centre Hastings,  and local donors  QSCM is able to invite all to attend “The Joyful Muse”  free of charge!


QSCM accepts donations to make all of our events featuring highly respected professional musicians free admission so that all can attend.


Grant funding from the Ontario Arts Council for “The Joyful Muse”  featuring violin/cello ensemble DUO THALIA  is a huge boost to our ability to make  professional quality classical musicianship accessible to all!

                          All Dressed - A Full Concert Program  & Pizza Social

The Joyful Muse
May 17, 18, 19

  • QSCM presents a weekend of community events featuring stunning musicianship by Xueao Yang (violin) and Kendra Grittani (cello) performing the music of our time by composers Jocelyn Morlock, Chen Yi, Jessie Montgomery and Rebecca Clarke

  • .Enjoy the music and conversation with the musicians who make it in the company of family, friends and neighours  

  • FRIDAY: Happy Hour (Alcohol Free) at Fina Vista Farm, Stirling:  Meet  the musicians, Xueao and Kendra, the repertoire to be performed, the composers who created it and the musicians who make it in the relaxed atmosphere of Fina Vista's converted loft space.  Sit back, listen, chat. Enjoy!

  • SATURDAY: Hazzards Corners Church in Madoc Township boasts acoustics that professional classical musicians are clamouring to explore. Discover the sound of music in this lcoal  acoustical gem with Xueao and Kendra. 

  • SUNDAY: Return on Sunday afternoon to Moira Hall to hear the whole program in concert format, then review your "Joyful Muse" experience with Xueao, Kendra and the QSCM audience at QSCM's Pizza Social!

  • All events:4 pm start

  • All events: FREE ADMISSION. Donations to QSCM* appreciated.  QSCM* is a registered charity.

Hosted by The Quinte Society for Chamber Music, Classical Pirate Radio makes classical music new and new music classical.  Each week Classical Pirate draws on  QSCM's cadre of professional musicians to bring you a carefully curated program of music exploring classical music in all it's forms. Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Brahms stand alongside Boulanger, Holt, Archer and a host of other living composers on a program designed to delight dedicated listeners of old favourites  while exciting both new and familiar audiences with the music of our own times.

Classical Pirate's rotation  of hosts is headed up by  pianist, Cynthia Young (ARTC piano) and includes  QSCM's Artistic Director, violinist Sebastian Sallans, (BA Violin Performance, University of Toronto)  and singer/pianist Sharon Wickett (ARTC voice and piano). The guest roster features some of of Canada's finest- performers and composers.

QSCM  welcomes anyone who wishes to  help out with  all aspects of our work. Reach out to us if you would like to be involved in any way.

We are a fun, forgiving group,  learning as we go. We offer ample opportunity to explore new areas of work in which you may not have skills but always wanted to learn as well as the chance to show us your stuff in what you are already a Master!
